Pentwyn Caravan and Camping

Powys

A wooded, brook-side site at the foot of the Black Mountains, ten minutes from Hay

About Pentwyn Caravan and Camping

Pentwyn Caravan and Camping sits at Tregoyd Mill, around ten minutes' drive from Hay-on-Wye on the edge of the Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) National Park, where the ground begins to rise towards the Black Mountains. The site is split into separate areas for different styles of camping, with trees throughout the grounds and a brook running through, giving it a more sheltered, wooded feel than the flatter riverside sites closer to town.

Tents, caravans and motorhomes are all accommodated, with electric hookups available in the Lodge Field area for those who need power, and awnings permitted for touring units. Raised firepits and barbecues are allowed across the site, a point of difference from many campsites in the area, and dogs are welcome in the Dingle section. Facilities are kept simple and campers should check current provision for showers and other amenities directly with the site before booking.

The location works well for visitors keen on the outdoor side of a Hay trip: Llangorse Lake is around twenty minutes away, local waterfalls closer to ten, and canoe hire on the Wye only five minutes' drive, with a choice of nearby pubs within easy reach on foot or by car. It suits campers happy to travel in for Hay's bookshops and festival rather than stay in the town itself.
