Radnors End Camping

Powys

Small family-run riverside site a short walk from Hay's bookshops

About Radnors End Camping

Radnors End Camping occupies a meadow on the Welsh bank of the River Wye, directly across the footbridge from Hay-on-Wye town centre, making it one of the few campsites anywhere within genuine walking distance of a book town's shops and pubs. The site is small and family run, with open views south towards the Black Mountains and a relaxed, unfussy feel that regulars return to year after year.

Pitches take tents, caravans, motorhomes and small campervans, with a limited number of electric hookups available for those who want them. The site provides toilet and shower facilities along with a washing-up area, and there is a small children's play area, making it a workable option for families as well as walkers and festival visitors travelling light. Dogs are welcome on site.

Its position makes it particularly popular during the Hay Festival in May, when a pitch here removes any need to drive into town or find parking, and bookings for that fortnight should be made well ahead. Outside festival season it remains a quiet, straightforward base for walking the riverside paths, exploring the bookshops on foot, or using Hay as a starting point for the Black Mountains and Offa's Dyke Path.
