What visitors say
We stayed at Dernwood Campsite for two nights over the first weekend in August and had an absolutely incredible camping experience. The campsite was fully booked, so it was as busy as it gets, yet the large camping field still felt spacious and peaceful. Surrounded by woodland, with a beautiful area of wild grass in the centre, there was plenty of room between pitches and everyone had ample space to themselves. On arrival, there is a lovely reception and café, which is well stocked with almost everything you might need. The camping field is reached via a beautiful winding path through the woods. You can either transport your equipment using the conveniently provided metal trolleys or, at certain times, the team offers lifts for camping equipment. No cars are allowed in the field, which really adds to the peaceful atmosphere. Dogs are permitted off-lead, provided they remain under control, which was a huge bonus for us. It was wonderful not having to keep our dog on a lead throughout the stay. The overall atmosphere was incredibly friendly, respectful and relaxed. There are a small number of toilets and a washing-up area on the boundary of the camping field, set back a bit. These were discreetly positioned, clean and no smell. Back near the café and reception, there are additional toilets and HOT, clean showers with excellent pressure. The Dernwood team were incredibly helpful, kind and hardworking, and we cannot wait to return. One thing to note is that there is no phone signal in the camping field, although Wi-Fi is available at the café. We actually loved this, as it encouraged us to switch off from our phones and enjoy the surroundings - and it is a great way to get kids off their screens too! Highly recommend and will be back.

I’ve been to Dernwood Farm several times now, staying in the Safari Tent, Cabin and Yurts. There’s really no other place like it - totally tranquil and relaxing, surrounded by lovely woodland and a great place to chill out and spend time with friends & family. The cafe and onsite shop sell their own meat which is super tasty and the cooked breakfast is an absolute must!! Can’t wait to come back again next year 😍

We had an amazing weekend at Dernwood Farm. The atmosphere was lovely. Fellow campers were all very friendly which helped create a nice community vibe. The facilities were plenty for what we needed. Toilets/showers were never busy even though the campsite was quite full. The shuttle service to take our equipment from the car to the field was super helpful. We also really appreciated the flexible check out time. Very friendly owners. Would definitely return and would highly recommend!

Loved the open field and woodland. The farm shop and cafe offered some tasty treats and basic amenities. Open fires being allowed was a bonus. Felt very spacious. Shower block was a bit of a walk but otherwise brilliant campsite!
