SAVE YOURSELVES... DO NOT STAY AT THIS CAMPSITE!! I'm not one for leaving bad reviews, but I regard this one to be an act of public duty. The pitches are all squashed together. Noisy drunken campers up until 2:30am. They took a noise deposit but didn't enforce any kind of curfew. Three showers for hundreds of people with 30+ minute queues... and those needed £1 coins. Disgusting mobile toilet block. Dogs roaming freely and barking relentlessly at each other. We arrived and left via Kayaks and the river access points and storage areas were unclear and none of the staff could advise on who to speak to. We were specifically asked to pay cash multiple times. Stay ANYWHERE but here...

Can’t fault the location. Nextdoor to the butterfly zoo which had a lovely ice cream shop and green space outside for the kids to play. Nice pub opposite with a huge garden to enjoy. The campsite itself was a let down. The toilet and shower facilities need some serious investment. They’re run down, unclean and cramped. You have to bring £1 coins for the shower which we couldn’t see us being told that on the booking confirmation. But the showers were ice cold anyway. Never saw cleaners once and they constantly ran out of loo roll. They had to close the block next to us for an evening because the drains blocked. Once they reopened they weren’t even cleaned. Only one small bin in one toilet cubicle for sanitary waste which was about to overflow. No other sanitary bin in the other. Drinking water tap right next to the sanitary waste tank which seems bonkers. Drains draining really slow when washing up in the kitchen area. Arcade was good fun for the kids but very expensive. And the riverside gin bar seemed like a nice area to chill. We came on a bank holiday weekend and music played until late and it stayed loud for hours. The event seemed to attract lots of young rowdy kids. We probably won’t return here again which is a shame because of the location.

A really well located campsite with easy access to the river. However they desperately need to invest in their toilet and shower facilities which were seriously lacking in both quantity and quality. Their washup facilities were also poor. Would have earned 4 stars if the loos had been better

Well after 2 nights camping we payed to park in car park where the warden was waiting to book people. I payed for 3 hour. Payed £2 to put the boat in river after 1 hour 30 we come to cafe for food .after waiting in cafe for food over a hour i payed for 1 more hour so not to get booked . Then as we packed the boat away waiting for the kids to come back from toilets I pulled by the bin to put my tickets in . Thats when the warden comes over says I've got no tickets in window I said I've just put them in the bin . He said well he booking me so I pulled the bin open and showed him the tickets after arguing that I was going. He said I suggest you buy a other ticket again thats not run out by 5 mins by this point I was not happy never go there again the money grabbing lot . I love all the signs that say cash is king and the atms all off but can pay for cash back over the counter very nice place
