Tresseck Campsite

Good location as its just by the river, perfect for kids and families to splash, it wasn't very deep when we were there although we came during another heatwave with lack of rains for a long time. As a group we had our own pitch which was convenient and private, there is minimum people requirement for own private pitch. Bbq needs to be off the ground so I recommend not taking disposable bbq, you can hire bbq mat (required) to put under your raised bbq for £10 that is refundable upon return. Toilets are clean, couple of washing sites and showers. Unfortunately water can be hit and miss with temperature. You need to get token for 5 minutes each. Showers are small and expect to leave quiet wet due to steam being trapped there. Many people use side to launch on water (paid for) for paddleboarding or kayaking. You can hire kayaks as well. Dogs welcomed, although we didn't have them with us this time. Additional field for games such as football is by campsite. Paid parking for visitors, and relaxing area by the bar where you can plug in to charge devices. Unfortunately not much shade there so when its hot you dont have much space to hide.

We booked to go camping with 5 other families at the end of June. We stayed on a pitch right by the river. The facilities and pitch were spotless, the staff were courteous and gently maintained order. The location is fantastic; we spent most of our time either paddling in the water or on the paddleboard. There can be quite a current so you need to be mindful/ respect the water. We will definitely be back next year. One family said they had laod down some core memories from the weekend.

I Camped here for one night and really enjoyed it. The site is peaceful and has a relaxed, laid‑back feel. Facilities were clean and well looked after, and the staff were friendly and helpful throughout my stay. Would happily stay again, but for more nights next time.

Great location and well maintained grounds. Downsides however were lack of marked out pitches leading to another group pitching within 2m of us whilst we were out which meant they were drunkenly tramping up and down next to where we were sleeping throughout the later hours (one even tripped on our guideline breaking our pegs!). Considering the cost per night is on the pricier side, it seems a money maker to charge on top for the privilege of a shower. The rules sent by email made no mentioned of a gate shut time, only included on a small sign next to the barrier so watch out there. Staff were mixed with friendly ladies in the cafe but (un)welcomed by an abrupt older man. All in all felt a bit too commercial and boozy for what was meant to be a nice weekend to reconnect with nature.
