What visitors say
I recently played at Great Hadham Golf Course, and I have to say, I was really disappointed with my experience. Right from the start, the tee boxes were in awful condition, which set a negative tone for the day. The fairways were extremely dry and clearly not well looked after; it felt like they hadn’t seen any maintenance in a while. I'm guessing since the club was formed. The greens were passable, but even the fringes surrounding them needed better care. It was frustrating to see such a lack of attention to detail on the course. On a brighter note, the bunkers were actually the best part of the course. Nothing to be proud of. They had decent sand and were maintained, which was a relief amidst the other issues. We would have been happier just playing out of the sand. Given the condition of the course, I really felt that the £22.00 fee was overly high; honestly, it wasn’t even worth £10.00. I sent an email to the club to express my concerns and requested a refund since the pro shop was closed when I returned to the clubhouse, but I received no response whatsoever. Having looked at the membership fees to and for a 7 day membership if was the best part of £1500.00..... If that is the case where is that money being invested? Certainly, isn't on the course!!!!! I can only imagine it is going into someone's pocket, or the club has very little members! Overall, it was a terrible experience, and I can’t recommend playing here. There are plenty of other courses that deserve your time and money a lot more than this one. Save yourself the hassle and play elsewhere! Pictures attached of tee boxes, fairways and bunkers. Shame on everyone at Great Hadham!!!!

It was a pleasure to play this course at this time of year. Considering the weather that we have had over the last couple of months the course is in excellent condition. My compliments to all the green keeping staff as I spoke to them while playing were very helpful and extremely polite as was the starter and in house staff they made it a very enjoyable day.

Simply put if you like golf that feels like you’re getting your moneys worth, you are better off playing somewhere else. Green fees have gone up by over 40% at the weekends yet the quality of the course has reduced from mediocre to very poor. If you’re happy paying £49.50 at weekends there are some lovely golf courses in Essex and Herts that you can play instead of here. All investment seems to be going towards the owners building more caravans and nothing on the golf course, prices should be coming down for the quality, not going up.

We are incredibly grateful to Great Hadham Golf Club for their fantastic support as St Clare Hospice's Charity of the Year. Their generosity, enthusiasm, and commitment have made a real difference to our work and the people we support. The members and staff have been a pleasure to work with, creating a warm and welcoming partnership throughout. We can’t thank them enough for everything they’ve done and continue to do.
