This stone-built cottage dates from the era when Nairn's Fishertown thrived on the catch. The owners have restored it carefully, keeping original features like the fireplace that now frames a wood burner on the ground floor, while adding modern comforts where they matter—an equipped kitchen, heating, and reliable wifi. The layout spreads across two levels: downstairs holds the living and dining space, a compact but functional kitchen, and one double bedroom with an en-suite shower room; upstairs, a second bedroom with two single beds occupies a gabled room with sloped ceilings. Four people can stay comfortably, with bed linen, towels, and logs for the burner provided.
Nairn itself sits on the Moray coast between Inverness and Elgin, with a working harbour and two sandy beaches within a mile. The town centre has independent shops, cafes, restaurants and pubs, most within walking distance. Beyond the immediate area lie Culbin Forest for woodland walks, the Nairn River for riverside routes, Cawdor Castle, Culloden battlefield, and Fort George. Water sports including kayaking and paddle boarding are available locally. One car can park on site. The cottage does not permit smoking. Note that access between floors involves a steep spiral staircase, and the upstairs bedroom has restricted headroom.
