Skye Glenhinisdal Camping And Caravan Site

This camping site was awesome. There staff is really nice people, professional and genuinely helpful their clients. Site is so clean and tidy and locates by nice lakeside with panaromic view, you can walk a train around the lake. Toilets , barthing , dishwashing, pet and vehicle cleaning area are available. Everything is in place. Reception and convenient shop is available, all the essentials are there. Nothing to worry at all... Can recommend everyone perfect place to stay and enjoy your Isle of Skye trip.

First time on Skye, an absolutely stunning place (despite the rain!) The campsite is beyond what we expected, fabulous views, facilities spotless and the shop has just about everything you could need. Haley was a fountain of information and gave us some handy places to exercise our boisterous dog plus she told us about a bus that goes to the top end of the island and back, which saved my husband from driving, so we could both enjoy the views! First, but definitely not, the last time on Skye for us. Thank you Haley, Andy & Andrew

Excellent site on the edge of a loch, giving stunning views over the hills across the water. Spaces are large, gravelled, not all are flat so bring ramps. As you enter there's a motorhome service point central longitudinal grey water drain and drinking water taps on both sides. Great idea as you can fill/empty as you come or go. Centrally placed facilities block has all the usual washing up, showers, toilets, laundry (can't remember if it was coin or token), with a chemical waste to the rear. Everything was the usual d Spotlessly clean and well maintained. Staff are informative and friendly, usually m manning the reception and shop. (Opening times, cleaning schedules are published in leaflets and posted). Dog walk is from site along paths following banks of the Loch. Not long, bit narrow and wild, but scenic. There are pigs and chickens on site,(fenced in, not running wild).

We, 2 adults, are travelling the west coast in a motorhome and this is our 3 night stop via the ferry from Mallaig. A mixed experience, really. Firstly the positives.... site is well maintained, great views of the Loch from most pitches and the staff were pleasant enough. The negative points (the club not the site management). We believe the summer ferry timetable was delayed by 1 day and we were due to travel on the first day....that messed our plans up as we were staying very close to Mallaig for the previous 3 days, didnt bother us as ferries are fickle things. I called the site to see if we could slide our booking over by 1 day. "No, we can't do that, you'll have to lose the day at the beginning and pay an extra night for the one at the end". There was plenty of room on site to slide us. Process gone mad, computer says no, I assume. So we cut our stay short and stayed in Arisaig for another night, which worked out for the better considering my advice below. My main point for writing this review is to pass some observations on... these aren't complaints. Just thing to be aware of. 1. The dog walk. Yes it's a mile long BUT you aren't around to let your dog off the lead, even though you aren't on club land. They state that it's a private Croft and not allowed. No good if you dog needs a good run. 2. Local Walks.... there arent any, aside from one but that is all roads. In the info centre there is a list of walks but they are all a drive away. Great if you have transport....If you are in a MH and moving it off site everytime you want to go for a hike is your thing then fine. So I then looked at All Trails..... nothing. I'm assuming that the area is mostly private Crofts with very little in the way of public footpaths.... and I'm not one for trespassing. I expected some great walking on skye but we were obviously in the wrong area. I probably should have done more research into the site locationa and surroundings but went away from the tourist hotspots
