About Herbie’s Hideaway

Tucked down a woodland track in the Flintshire hills, Herbie's Hideaway offers proper seclusion – you get exclusive use of a renovated caravan and bell tent in your own private field and woodland, sleeping four between them. It's genuinely off-grid, with solar-powered lighting and a composting loo, though there's a shower in the caravan and fresh water on tap. The farmland setting brings plenty of animal neighbours: goats, chickens and ducks roam the smallholding, while owls and badgers occasionally put in an appearance.

Despite the remote feel, you're only a five-minute walk from the local pub and 15 minutes from a farm shop – handy for supplies to cook on the gas stove provided. Campfires are allowed, dogs are welcome year-round, and there's a trolley to help haul gear down the track. The A55 is ten minutes away for trips to north Wales beaches (35 minutes), Chester or the coast, though with woodland walks on the doorstep, you may not feel the need to stray far.

Location is out of the way, everything we could imagine, surrounded by fields and beautiful scenery! The pod was so so clean and had everything you could need, couldn’t spot one fault. My partner has booked this little getaway for my birthday last year in July. We honestly had the best time !!!! We walked in to a gorgeous pod, inside there was some birthday treats. That was ever so thoughtful! We loved it! The owners Adrienne and Simon were so lovely and welcoming. The pod had everything we needed, but even when we needed some extra bits we’ve contacted the owners and got it straight away! Very accommodating. The pod itself was georg! Sitting area outside, barbecue, the views.. the lot! Everything was just amazing. Great location! We went Chester beforehand which was lovely and we’ve done the zip world too. We went on a few quiet walks. We did not want to leave. Everything was spot on, Adrienne and Simon went the extra mile. We’ll definitely be back this year! We cannot wait already! The pods are clean, comfortable and well equipped for your needs, with the most beautiful views. If you are after a peaceful break with scenic walks. This is the perfect place. We have just returned after an amazing 3 night break . We cannot recommend the honey pods highly enough. They are welcoming and comfortable set in a beautiful, quiet location with stunning views.
