Hurstpierpoint has no large hotels of its own, but its village-scale pubs with rooms and bed and breakfasts suit visitors after a quieter base than Brighton, only ten miles away. Rooms above or beside the high street's traditional pubs put you within walking distance of independent shops, cafes and Holy Trinity Church, with Wolstonbury Hill and the South Downs a short walk or drive to the south. For more choice, Hassocks and Haywards Heath both offer a wider range of hotels and guesthouses within a few miles, while still keeping the village and its surrounding Downland walks close at hand. Rural farmhouses and guesthouses scattered through the countryside towards the Downs suit those prioritising walking access over village-centre convenience, often with views back towards Wolstonbury Hill or out across the Weald. Brighton's much larger hotel scene, from budget chains to seafront boutique stays, is easily reached by car or train via Hassocks station for visitors who want to combine a Hurstpierpoint day trip with a coastal stay. Whichever option you choose, book ahead for weekends in spring and summer, when both the village and the surrounding South Downs National Park draw steady numbers of day-trippers and walkers.
