I'm not even sure where to start! Initially, my wife and I had booked a yurt that only sleeps 2 people while our son was on a residential trip with his school (With him having ASD, we stay a short drive away in case we are needed). The days we had booked just happened to be during the extreme heat warning. With that, our sons trip was cancelled at the last moment, and we had to cancel our own trip because of it which was non-refundable (as expected). A lady from the Walnut Barn Estate called my wife and offered us a 2 bed cottage (The Cider Barn) where we could bring our son along also and even our dog. This was above an beyond what many people do. The estate was easy to find and the accomodation was beautiful and clean and we were very thankful it was a stone floor which helped in the heat. After we had settled for an hour, the owner of the estate, Mark, came to greet us between his work (it is a working farm after all) and is a very genuine, down to earth and friendly guy. I was shocked that himself and his family were hard at work and not even slowing down all over the hot weather! They are all absolute machines and it really opened my eyes to just how hard farming is come rain or shine. The cottage itself was well kept, and the stone floor was a bonus in the heat. The decor inside was a lovely touch as was the jet bath which was enjoyed with cool water in! There is a beautiful orchard garden area by the car park where we could relax with our dog running free, and with sheep, chickens, ducks, and even Rheas looking over the fence. All in all, it was a really nice and cosy cottage to stay in and a beautiful, well kept estate. We would happily book the same cottage in the future, albeit hopefully in slightly cooler weather! The whole estate, the wider area and everyone we met were very friendly. The walks in the area are nothing short of incredible (We live in Cornwall and were still in awe) with cherry trees, cherry plum trees and many others everywhere we went. I only wish we could have stayed longer. But my wife and I still want to experience the yurt on site so we just HAVE to book again! We were made to feel extremely welcome by all on the estate and my son was over the moon at being allowed to go in with the sheep and give cuddles to the valais black sheep "Brian". He loved the sheep so much that he was desperate to get a "Brian" teddy (which we now have!). A huge thank you to everyone on the estate for going out of their way to help us when both my wife and I and our son were all completely crushed over almost having to cancel. What can seem like a small gesture to offer alternate accomodation, it had a huge impact on us. With his ASD, our son was absolutely distraught his own school trip was cancelled and was having the worst meltdown we had seen. This should tell anyone thinking of booking just what kind of people run the estate. We hope to see you all in the near future! Alan and Kirsty

We stayed in the yurt, it had a whole private fenced garden containing the beautiful yurt, garden furniture, wood burner, blue tooth speakers hot tub and a separate shower room and toilet. The stay was fantastic, there is a viewing platform where you can see all the way to Wales and animals all about the farm. Brian and Bruce the sheep managed to escape so we had fun feeding them. The Yurt was amazing with careful touches like robes provided, and cozy and the area is utterly beautiful. We will be back in winter to cozy up by the log burner.

We have just got back from an incredible bank holiday weekend celebrating my best friends hen do in BOB! I could not recommend this place enough, it is incredible for hen do’s such a beautiful vibe and everything is thought down to the last detail! Very friendly staff and always around to help if needed. It was a very easy process to book, it was a brilliant house and just the right size for everyone to sit together both inside or outside! We had beautiful weather and the amenities outside were perfect to have a day in the sun. I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a hen/stag do accommodation.

Beautiful accommodation, a one off family get together. Good communication, and local pub excellent. We rented four different properties, BOB, yurt, Lottie's and we stayed in Olivia's roost. Digital handbooks provided for BOB and the yurt, but information book in Lottie's was limited, couldn't find the cutlery, or work the induction hob, no instructions provided for TV either. In Olivia's, we couldn't turn on heating, no information book at all, It was very cold in the mornings and rainy, so we couldn't dry our towels. Log fires were lovely, but didn't want to light a fire in the morning! Please provide detailed info for us technically challenged. And beware of steps, no hand rails and challenging steps for elderly.
