About Culloden Moor Camping and Caravanning Club Site
This Camping and Caravanning Club site sits in mixed woodland on the edge of Culloden Moor, around four miles east of Inverness, and directly across the road from the visitor centre at Culloden Battlefield. It gives a genuinely peaceful, tree-sheltered base that feels well away from the city despite the short drive back into it.
Pitches are laid out for tents, touring caravans and motorhomes, with electric hook-up on most, and the club's usual standard of well-kept toilet and shower blocks, a laundry, and a small on-site shop for basics. A play area caters for children, and the surrounding forestry tracks offer easy walking and cycling straight from the tent.
The site's proximity to Culloden makes it a natural choice for anyone visiting the battlefield without wanting to rush the trip, and Inverness, Fort George and Loch Ness are all within a short drive. It generally opens from March to November, and its wooded setting offers useful shelter from wind, though midges can be present in the trees during the height of summer.
