Torvean Caravan Park

Riverside touring park within the Inverness city boundary

About Torvean Caravan Park

Torvean Caravan Park is one of the few campsites within Inverness itself, set beside the Caledonian Canal and the River Ness on the southern edge of the city, close to the Torvean Golf Course. Its position means campers can walk or cycle into the city centre in around twenty minutes along the towpath, making it the most convenient option for anyone without a car.

The park caters mainly for touring caravans and motorhomes, with a smaller number of tent pitches, and offers electric hook-up, a shower and toilet block, and laundry facilities. It is a straightforward, well-maintained site rather than a resort-style park, with the emphasis on a clean, level pitch and easy access to the city rather than on-site entertainment.

Its canal-side setting is popular with anglers and walkers, and the towpath gives direct, traffic-free access into the centre as well as out towards Loch Ness in the other direction. The site typically operates from spring to autumn and suits both overnight stops on the way north and longer stays for visitors keen to explore Inverness on foot.
