Jedburgh Camping and Caravanning Club Site

Unfortunately I wouldn’t recommend staying here if you’re doing St Cuthbert’s Way. We booked to camp here for one night and, before our stay, I repeatedly tried to contact the campsite by both email and telephone, but received no response. We had arranged a luggage transfer from Melrose to the campsite. After getting up at 3am to travel to the start of the walk and then walking 13+ miles to Jedburgh, we arrived only to discover that the campsite had refused to accept our bags and had sent them to another location around 30 minutes away. The complete lack of communication, courtesy and consideration for walkers was extremely disappointing. Had we been informed in advance, we could have made alternative arrangements. Instead, we were left stranded after a long day of travel and walking. As a result, we chose not to stay at the campsite. Fortunately, the bags had been sent to the Royal Hotel, where the staff were welcoming, helpful and accommodating. They were willing to accept our luggage even though we did not have a booking with them. Overall, this was a very poor experience.

Camped here whilst walking St Cuthbert’s Way. All facilities were clean and well maintained. Site is close to a petrol station open 24/7 which is great for resupplying. Trail is easily picked back up next day with a short walk. Recommended for walkers.

It needs updating but it's clean and well looked after by the wardens. We will be going back, it easy to access off A68. Town is only 20 minutes casual walk away you will enjoy it, you must go the the abbey it's fantastic.

Camping and Caravanning Club sites can usually be relied on to be very good but Jedburgh seems to be in need of an update. My main grumble is the shower cubicles are rather cramped. It's only a short walk into Jedburgh and there are bus stops close to the site.
