About The Old Barn Certificated Site

The Old Barn is a certificated site on Stocks Lane in Heskin, just outside Chorley. Certificated sites in England are limited to five pitches and cater to tourers – caravans and motorhomes – rather than tents. The site has showers on hand for guests.

The village location means a few minutes' walk to the local butcher and whatever else Heskin offers, with Chorley town centre accessible by car for bigger shops and amenities.

Lovely quiet secluded site, great dog walking area and friendly hosts. Highly recommended. Picture is the lovely view from our pitch.

Pitches are the smallest I've ever encountered. Unless you're in a small camper, you will struggle. Our motorhome had a huge over-hang which blocked the route to the other pitches. One couple came, tried to get their caravan on the pitch, and couldn't get it on.. they went home.. said it was ridiculous. No showers or toilets whilst we were there and no grey waste facility. The elsan and water points are a trek from the pitch. It was like being on a small carpark. Owners didn't make contact, no information where anything was, no signage, had to pay upfront by bank transfer. At £20/night I felt a bit cheated. Farm machinery noise during the day.

Small entrance door and limited space in front of counter, but steps lead down into two separate rooms - main one being attractive, cosy, barn dining room, with mezzanine floor above. Adjoining well-stocked farm and butcher's shop.

We where there just as a overnight stay and seemed a very nice place with just about 6 pitches. Hopefully stay longer next time.
