We just recently bought our static caravan as our holiday retreat from London. I was born and lived in Leicester for years so I wanted to sort of come back for holidays for my semi retirement. We're more than happy with it. Everything was explained how things worked and what to expect. When I have asked for something it's been sorted strait away and they will give us advice when needed. Problems are sorted out usually the next day along with emails. It is also a very quiet site, and clean, you hardly see a soul in the evening other than the people sitting on the decking. No noise other than that of the M1, but you get used to it strait away. Loads of walks around the place including Bradgate Park and Thornton. You will need a car as it's off the beaten track but that makes it good. People look out for each other's caravans, it can take hours to walk anywhere as you're talking all the time to other people. Loads of wildlife around the place as well which is nice. Shopping is either at the local Co-op or the Morrison's hypermarket about three miles away or so. Glad we did it, it may not suit some people but it works for us.

I purchased a new static caravan from Charnwood Acres for £40,000 in 2020. Two years later I wanted to sell my van but if I sold it privately the owner wouldn't allow the buyer to keep the van on-site. I therefore had no choice but to sell it back to the site for £25,000. The van is now advertised at £37,000. Be prepared to lose a significant amount of money. The site is for holiday homes, not residential hence you're only allowed to use the van for 50 weeks. You are not legally allowed to live on the site. Check out Holiday Park Action Group on Facebook for more information.
