About Accidental Arts and Ecology Centre

Perched at 1,200 feet in the Cambrian Mountains, ten minutes from Llanidloes, this rustic pop-up site occupies a working museum orchard with over 450 varieties of apple and pear. It's unapologetically back-to-basics—level grass pitches, drinkable water, composting loos and those sweeping mountain views, but no showers, electricity or hot water. If you're after creature comforts, look elsewhere; if you want proper camping in clean Welsh air with the family and dog, it delivers.

The orchard setting is the real draw: owners run fruit tastings and cider tours, and musical events at the on-site Welsh Mountain Cider tap room mean you can enjoy a pint without needing to drive. With only a handful of pitches and campfires allowed, it's an intimate, peaceful spot for escaping the city and reconnecting with simple pleasures.

Charlie is the nicest host, nothing was too much trouble! We came with friends, had 2 domes, and the best time enjoying a week of pure relaxation together - hot tub, BBQ, pizza making, movie nights, and the most delicious brownies from Charlie! Hot tub is refilled and warmed up for you everyday, perfect after a day of hiking, wild swimming, paddle boarding or horse riding, all nearby. We couldn’t have asked for more. We loved it so much we even extended our stay by 2 nights! We will be back for sure!

We hired the full site at Cae Nant Glamping for my hen weekend and it was absolutely amazing from start to finish. The whole site was spotless, beautifully maintained and had everything we needed for the perfect weekend away. The setting is stunning and all the accommodation was so cosy and comfortable. Charlie, the owner, truly went above and beyond to make our stay special. Nothing was too much trouble and her attention to detail and hospitality made such a difference. Everyone in the group had the best time and we’ve made memories we’ll never forget. I would highly recommend Cae Nant Glamping for any group getaway, hen party or relaxing break!

Wow! That’s the best way to describe our stay. Just got back from staying with our 5 year old and our dog for two nights this weekend and we had an amazing time. Charlie is the star of the show and is an amazing hostess. Nothing is too much trouble and everything, literally everything is already thought of. We arrived later than the allowed time on the Friday which wasn’t an issue. The hot tub and dome wood burners already lit and waiting so we were able to relax as soon as we arrived. The dome was immaculately presented and clean through out with everything you could ever need and is much more spacious than you think from the photos. Charlie had left us lots of little treats and extras littered all over the dome. Fresh eggs, milk, bread, coffee, prosecco, chocolate, marshmallows and lots of treats and toys for our dog to name a few. Throughout our stay she couldn’t have been more accommodating and even let our daughter come and visit / feed the animals which was a lovely touch. If you’re after a luxury experience like no other with complete relaxation in mind, I couldn’t recommend Gae Nant and Charlie anymore. We’ll definitely be back and it’s a 10 out of 10 from us! Thanks again from Andrew, Amparo, Poppy and Florence x

I was torn about leaving a review because, honestly, I don’t want too many people finding out about this amazing little getaway. But it deserves it. This isn’t an exaggeration, it’s genuinely one of the best weekends away you could ask for. The location, the pods, the facilities, the host [Charlie]… all 10/10. We’ll definitely be booking again, just hoping it’s available when we do!
