What diners say
Friendly staff and a really cozy tavern-like atmosphere with a special charm to it. Definitely try the chicken — it’s slightly spicy, juicy, and not dry at all. Simple, but very enjoyable. The fried cauliflower is a solid vegetarian option as well. The cake was way too sweet for my taste, especially with the extra caramel on top — a bit overwhelming. I also tried a dish that was something like a sour-style goulash (unfortunately can’t remember the name), and yes, it was definitely quite sour. Overall, the food is solid, but the real reason to come here is the ambiance. Don’t expect a spectacular culinary experience — expect a warm, relaxed atmosphere and a great place to sit, talk, and enjoy a meal. An unpretentious place in the best way. I’d definitely come back.

I have a lovely meal here before seeing a play at the Menier Chocolate Factory just around the corner. The food was delicious and there was a lovely atmosphere. The Plum and Thyme Spritz had a very strong time so I just pulled out the sprig. The service wasn't overly friendly, but it wasn't rude. They brought a pastel de nata with a candle in it for my friend's birthday which was a lovely touch! I'll be back!

Great place. For food, the highlight was the rice and piri piri chicken. The service was quick and efficient. There’s 2 levels, if you ask nicely and they can accommodate, they are nice and seat you upstairs. Our waiter was an absolute gem (didn’t get his name, he wears glasses and was scheduled when I went last Friday night), such a nice person.

Good food at a reasonable price point. We ordered the mushrooms, which were very tasty, albeit slightly on the salty side. The menu stated they were served on toasted sourdough; however, it was not quite like a bruschetta, as the bread became rather soggy due to the generous amount of sauce (oil and wine). We also tried the pork belly ribs, chicken piri piri, green vegetables, and roasted potatoes. The chicken was well prepared and served on the bone, with a generous coating of chilli oil. If any parts were slightly dry, the chilli oil worked well as a dip. The potatoes were not my favourite, but the green vegetables were very good. Overall, the dishes were quite garlicky. I personally enjoyed this, although it may not be ideal if you are planning to go on a date afterwards. The service was very good and attentive. One of us had a food allergy, and a member of staff kindly came over to double-check the details, which was much appreciated!
