What diners say
After having magnificent Thai food, we decided to go on a little wander around borough market in search of some wine. We wanted somewhere busy and fun and this place fitted the bill. We arrived around 10ish, it was busy but there were a few tables free. We ordered a bottle of white wine, I believe it was from Spain, maybe Barcelona. The wine was lovely and fresh with a hint of some kind of fruit (maybe it wasn't, but there was something about the dessert about it) which I loved, it went down a treat. The bottle of wine wasn't too expensive, approx £57.00. The service was impeccable, as soon as we arrived, we were seated at the table and the wine menu was explained to us. The atmosphere was amazing, it was a typical Friday night so the energy was nice and the company was even better. If you're in the borough market area and you're feeling thirsty, please don't hesitate to come to Elliott's 😊

We ordered several dishes. 1. cheese puffs (really good) 2. Anchovies toast (too much butter) 3. Bread (it’s bread(bring back the small wood fired bread)) 4. Red lettuce salad (too bitter on its own, strange combination with the Parmesan) 5. Mussels (average, quite bland) 6. Steak (large portion ordered, was nice) 7. Chips (too salty, tasted like honest burger chips). The orange radler and margarita were both fantastic. What was quite odd was that there was zero structure to the service, all of these items arrived individually at very different times, it was like some strange version of a tasting menu and it did not go well, you need these dishes together to enjoy the flavours of each / pairing flavours, individually it was a bit of a let down and wouldn’t be back for this reason.

Had been to Elliot’s years previously and had been trying to come back, let’s me honest mainly for those cheese puffs! 🤭🧀 They were of course amazing but as was every other dish we ate! The wine was also amazing as was the atmosphere/ service a tad slow at times but they were busy and training new people so not to be helped! A great spot in London and near the buzz of Borough Market.

Everything we ate was really tasty. Nice location and a really chill rustic vibe inside the hotel. My only criticism would be the wood fired plates - some of them I think are too expensive for what you get - the monkfish for example was really tasty, but for £45 you really don’t get much meat on the fish. Only other thing would be the plates come out when they’re ready which to be fair we were told about this, however some of the sides/small plates we got to pair with one of the main dishes eg. Steak and the potatos, but they came 20 minutes apart which was a little frustrating. Other than that it was really tasty. Pizza was 10/10, lamb steak was delicious and the bavette steak was really good.

Diners like this restaurant's delicious small plates, including cheese puffs and sourdough pizzas, and its impressive selection of natural wines. They also highlight the cozy atmosphere and the friendly, knowledgeable staff.
Some reviews mention the service can be unprofessional.
