What diners say
My life’s WORST food ever! All we ordered was butter chicken, naan and raita after our rude server had no dishes to recommend for his restaurant. Simple items especially for Indian restaurants in London. The butter chicken was undercooked, its gravy was curdled and watery in the bad way and tasted horrible, I wanted to throw up after my first bite. Chicken was tasteless and tough. Then I thought maybe I can just eat the naan… but even that was undercooked in some areas. Then lastly I came to the raita, which again is the simplest thing to make , however they found a way to screw that up too, the onions in the raita tasted old, no salt and no pepper in it either. So I asked one of their waiters to get me some black pepper powder. THE WAITER DID NOT KNOW WHAT the World Famous Black Pepper powder is , I even asked him for it in Hindi and he went to the owner/ manager of the restaurant to ask for it and came back saying that their restaurant Doesn’t have BLACK PEPPER Powder!!!!!!!!!!! Unbelievable! My life’s first restaurant that is making food without black pepper! No wonder why they don’t know how to cook. Absolutely rude service, horrible food and just a disappointing experience. If you are looking for real Indian food, then, save your money, time and mood and go somewhere else. We left all our food unconsumed and paid the bill ( found a 12% service charge automatically added on it) and just left this horrible place. I only took couple of photos at the end to add to this review for others to see and avoid this place, therefore sharing them here.

This was a disappointing experience at Shad Indian. The food felt generic and lacked character. It was the kind of standard Indian restaurant fare you can find almost anywhere, with little care in the execution. We started with prawn puri and onion bhaji. Both were basic and underwhelming. Nothing was particularly wrong with them, but there was no flavour or freshness that made them memorable. I ordered the soft shell crab. It arrived covered in such a heavy layer of onions that it was difficult to even see the crab. The onions completely overwhelmed the dish and made it unpleasant to eat. The biggest letdown was the tandoori mixed grill. This dish should be full of flavour and smoky depth. Instead it was very dry and lacked seasoning. It felt flat and poorly prepared. The only highlights were the naan bread and the rice. Both were well cooked and actually quite good. What made the experience worse was the price. The bill was extremely high for food of this quality and did not feel justified. Overall this was a disappointing meal and not somewhere I would return to, especially considering how many excellent Indian restaurants are available in London.

WORST RESTURANT IN UK !!! I had a very disappointing experience at Shaad Restaurant. We ordered matar paneer, but the peas were clearly undercooked/raw. Since this is a very common Indian dish that I’ve been eating since childhood, I know the difference between properly cooked and uncooked matar. When we politely raised the issue with the staff, instead of resolving it professionally, the situation was unnecessarily escalated to the manager. The manager’s attitude was extremely dismissive and arrogant, and it felt more like he was trying to corner the customer rather than understand or solve the concern. What was most disappointing was that the feedback was completely ignored. The manager simply insisted that “this is how the dish has been served for the past 5–10 years,” rather than acknowledging the issue or offering any solution. Good restaurants value customer feedback instead of becoming defensive. The overall atmosphere felt unwelcoming, and the customer service lacked professionalism and basic courtesy. Also, despite being presented as an authentic Indian restaurant, the food, preparation style, and overall experience felt far from authentic Indian cuisine. From the interactions and overall setup, it appeared more like a Bangladeshi-run restaurant being marketed under the name of an Indian restaurant. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I would not recommend this place.

The man at the reception was very dramatic 😄 the way he was speaking howw aai may help you was very funny... thereafter he has shown Motor Paneer that too was shocking for us how it can be motor paneer it's peas and cheese curry. Anyways we have gone there for Indian feel but the whole setup was somewhat confused to cater the customer of Indian dishes or they wanted to assimilate with the English food. Anyways the location was good as it was very near to tower bridge so if you are staying nearby Tower Bridge and you are late, then you can try it at least once. The name of the restaurant is based on the building Shad the tallest one in London.
