About The Windy Roost

Lybster itself is a small coastal settlement in the far north. The area is remote enough that most visitors will need transport to reach nearby attractions, but the north coast of Scotland has significant appeal for those willing to drive: the dramatic cliffs around Dunnet Head, archaeological sites including Grey Cairns of Camster, and access to the Flow Country peatlands are all within reasonable reach. Wick, the larger town, lies south with better facilities and amenities if needed.

Pros: Such a lovely, quiet location and close to Lybster which has a small grocery store. The hosts are on-site, and we met Pete, who was so kind and helpful. The space is small, but laid out efficiently. We loved the treats that the host left for us :) Thank you, Pete, for your kindness! Cons: The bunk beds would be best for only children - not so comfortable for an adult.

Superb, Pete and Mandy have been so helpful and friendly after our rental camper broke down. Possibly the nicest shower block you will ever encounter on your journey. Great views too👍🏻👍🏻 ❤️
