Just Me

Wow, such a brilliant campsite. Really enjoyed our weekended here. Each pitch is private and spaced out, so you have your privacy. It’s family run and the owners are lovely. The facilities are great, spotlessly clean and everything is thought of, can’t wait to return.

Despite a slightly dramatic entrance involving a tight entrance and losing half a hedge (whoops!), my recent discovery has left me utterly chuffed. While the journey there involves navigating a single-track road and the location is slightly further out than expected, it's absolutely worth every bit of effort. I've found a truly breathtaking wildflower meadow, meticulously maintained with beautifully mowed paths and distinct plots. The site owners were incredibly welcoming, informing me that I had the entire place to myself for the duration of my stay – a rare and wonderful treat. Even better, my dogs were given free rein to roam and explore, as the entire, expansive field is fully enclosed. Watching them revel in their newfound freedom was a joy in itself. But the delights didn't stop there. Running alongside the field, on the opposite side of a fence, is a charming, meandering brook, to which I also have access! It's the kind of idyllic setting you dream of. Both my dogs and I are in absolute heaven. This spot is a perfect retreat for anyone looking to unwind amidst nature with their furry companions, and the minor navigation challenges only add to its secluded charm.I’m really sorry you came across a wild poo during your visit—that’s certainly not the experience we want for anyone. Thank you so much for stepping in and picking up extra while you were there. It genuinely means a lot. I do check the field regularly, but it’s not always possible to get in after every slot, so acts of kindness like yours make a real difference. Sadly, you didn’t win a field slot this week, but please don’t be discouraged—your effort and thoughtfulness haven’t gone unnoticed. You’re helping keep the field a lovely, welcoming space for everyone, and that’s something truly special. Keep up the amazing work, and here’s hoping next week brings better luck.

This campsite is a hidden gem! We searched several websites for a site that had private, secluded, spaced out pitches that allowed dogs and proved to be a rare to find; however when we stumbled across this campsite we were delighted. We were even happier when we turned up to find large, quiet pitches with nobody else in site. You can even hear the river & walk alongside it. Our dogs loved going for a dip! The toilet block is immaculate & even has power sockets! The kitchen area has buckets of logs, eggs, frozen water in the freezer & charcoal available, as well as a sink and worktop space. The shower is £1 for 10 minutes and is bigger than the shower we have at home.🤣 We met Nick (& his lovely dog Jess) who was very friendly & chatty. We would definitely recommend this peaceful escape to anyone who is looking for a base to explore the forest (straight from the site; no car required) or to be nearby Lake Vyrnwy. We will almost certainly return in the future. Thank you.

Really enjoyed our stay. nick, carol and josh are lovely chatty people and couldn’t do more for us. Hot shower available along with buckets of logs 🪵 fire pits provided lovely evenly spaced pitches big enough for multiple tents 🏕️ kept well and maintained. Recycling boxes available and the stream runs right past which makes for a relaxing night by the fire 🔥 🎣 Will definitely be returning.🤣🤣
