An Absolute Gem Near Snowdon – A Truly Wonderful Stay! What a fantastic, peaceful getaway Freddie (my dog) and I had at Llys Derwen Caravan and Campsite! From the moment we pulled in, we were struck by the beautiful, tranquil setting and how incredibly well-maintained the entire site is. It is the perfect, relaxing base camp for exploring the stunning Snowdonia area. A massive shout-out to Nathan, the owner, who is an absolute gentleman and the definition of a perfect host. He went completely above and beyond to make us feel welcome right from the start. He’s incredibly helpful, full of great local knowledge, and genuinely cares about his guests having the best possible experience. His warm hospitality really sets this place apart and gives it a lovely, personal feel. It’s also an absolute haven for dog owners. Freddie was made to feel like a VIP guest, and having a truly dog-friendly space where we could relax made the trip so much sweeter. The Verdict: Spotless facilities, peaceful vibes, stunning surroundings, and top-tier hospitality from Nathan. Freddie and I couldn't have asked for a better stay. We will definitely be back—highly, highly recommended!

One of the best campsites I’ve stayed at in many years of motorhoming. Fantastic location — Snowdon, Portmeirion and Conwy are all an easy drive away, and there’s a bus stop, pub and shops just a short walk from the site. Facilities were spotless and the showers were continuous (no timer buttons!). Our grass pitch with EHU had no metering, and even after heavy rain the ground drained perfectly. This is a lovely family‑run site with a great atmosphere. Nathan, the owner, is friendly, helpful and clearly proud of the place. We enjoyed it so much we extended our stay. We’ll definitely be back.

Probably the nicest campsite I've ever stayed on. Once again, we found ourselves camping for a few days in North Wales, this time near Llyn Ogwen, during the hottest days of the year. Campsite was overpriced and uncomfortable, the grass hadn't been cut, the facilities were miles away and there were so many midges (no doubt due to long grass!) that we had to sit in our car. Enough was enough, so we packed up and went to Llys Derwen, where we'd stayed previously and absolutely loved. Even as return guests, Llys Derwen once again exceeded our expectations, making us question why we'd ever bother going anywhere else. Nathan was so welcoming and made us feel like special guests, picking out a perfect shady pitch for us, which was exactly what we needed on a scorching summer day. I don't think there's a single element of this campsite that Nathan hasn't perfected. The grass is immaculate, the toilets are spotless, the showers are good enough to make us want to have a shower even though we didn't really need one. There are drinking water taps everywhere, and somehow even dealing with waste and recycling at Llys Derwen is a pleasurable experience. In short, I simply could not recommend this site highly enough. Pros: Beautiful manicured pitches, immaculate clean shower block, well laid-out campsite with sun and shade, washing up room with communal fridge and freezer, top-level customer service, small shop in reception (sells ice, ice cream, cold drinks etc). Cons: No hot tub, small shop in reception does not sell Champagne ;)

Beautiful campsite, spotless and peaceful, friendly welcome from Nathan. We stayed for 2 nights, large dog and chicken area, 5 minute walk to the local pub that served homemade food. Stunning area, under a 10 minute drive to Llanberis. Fresh eggs, milk, local honey and local filtered coffee, and snacks are available at the shop, I would highly recommend! We would recommend this campsite and will return!
