What a lovely find a campsite with a pub that serves fantastic food. We both had chargrilled chicken with prawns and chorizo in a creamy garlic sauce. Chips, tomato and mushrooms served with all grills. Delicious, completely different but perfectly spiced and favoured ,and unbelievably filling - I could not manage a desert and I eat a large dinner. The rear of the pub has a fabulous beer garden with a beautiful large “tent” that is ideal for weddings, parties etc. Lots of outdoor seating and a child friendly area. The campsite has a security barrier entry/exit and grass or hard standing pitches. Optional metered EHU. Fresh water. A grey and black drop point - no drive over MH drain. Bin area. Separate male/female toilet/shower room with good hot showers. The site looks dated and would welcome a a little TLC. Work has started, new paths and hard standing pitch updates. It’s a popular site and everything works well.

We travelled from Birmingham and visited The Hammer and Pincers on a way home. The staff was very helpful and immediately made a table available for us. The food was very delicious and came shortly after was ordered. Great customer service,we will return if in the area next.

Lovely Sunday lunch today, couldn't fault it. Roast beef & Yorkshire pudding with mash and veg, very very nice. No pudding as was too full. Service was great, didn't have long to wait at all. Really nice atmosphere and prices reasonable. Very clean, tables washed down after each service. Quite busy, it's important to support this local pub/restaurant due to all the roadworks on Ricknall Road, it only takes an extra few minutes detour to get there.

This pub is just awesome. The service was just fantastic, and the food was really really nice. The pub is set in a nice little area (with limited parking so be careful if you come on a busy night). Belly pork was exceptional and the chicken burger was great too. Death by chocolate is recommended. Service was quick, friendly and personal without being intrusive. Drinks were kept topped up, and we were checked up on. If I could give 6* I would.
