What visitors say
This is our second time stopping here and it wasn’t a disappointment. The site and facilities were impeccable the pitches private but welcoming and the local amenities are perfect. I would recommend the breakfast baguettes and the stake and bake butchers, reasonable price for awesome breakfast. Looking forward to booking our third stay.

Having camped at Applewood 8 times we decided to book a Posh Pod for a weekend in June. The pod had everything we needed and the beds were very, very comfortable. We didn't use the firepit but still used the picnic bench. When it rained the TV came in handy. The toilets and power shower facilities - great and are real power showers. As Applewood say, pub, shop and takeaways are in a short walking distance. Thanks Applewood, we will be returning, yet again!

Really lovely campsite for families! Perfect location right next to the zoo and just a short walk to a shop, butcher’s, chip shop and a pub – super handy. The facilities were spotless and very modern, and the play areas were new and brilliant for the kids. Great spots to walk the dog too. Only small gripe was that even though the site wasn’t very busy, they still put everyone quite close together instead of spreading us out across the pitches. Would’ve felt nicer with a bit more space. Overall though, we had a fantastic stay and will definitely be back.

If you want to go for a couple of nights it’s alright the zoo is nice but if you want a seasonal pitch then go somewhere else they changed the rules mid contract, lied about complaints which haven’t been made, upped the prices just to add electricity bill which is alright to be billed on electricity but it would not require that much moreover the toilets were not clean, and they have been terrible with seasonal pitch holders. Most the staff are amazing to talk. 👍
