Normanby Hall Country Park

I recently had the pleasure of photographing a beautiful wedding at Normanby Hall, and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. The venue offers stunning grounds, elegant architecture, and a variety of beautiful backdrops that are perfect for wedding photography. From the picturesque gardens to the grand hall itself, every corner provides wonderful opportunities for capturing memorable moments. The staff were welcoming, professional, and incredibly helpful throughout the day, ensuring everything ran smoothly for both the couple and their guests. Their attention to detail and organisation helped create a relaxed atmosphere, allowing everyone to fully enjoy the celebrations. As a wedding photographer, I found Normanby Hall to be a dream venue to work at, and I would highly recommend it to any couple looking for a beautiful and well-managed setting for their wedding day.

On arrival we weren't sure what to expect here, but as the visit progressed we found a great deal to do and thought it was exceptional value for the entry price (£12). The hall itself is interesting, with friendly staff at the entrance, and a lot of rooms to view. Used to more elaborate decor, this Georgian styled interior feels almost plain, but read the history and follow the generations, and it all makes for an interesting visit. The gardens are well worth a wander, the walled garden with its huge hot houses, followed by an extensive park area (with deer) & a water feature in the centre, chainsaw wooden sculptures, rhododendrons and camelias. The real surprise for us, was the rural museum. Right at the end of our visit, a brilliant museum. You know you're getting on when you remember using items on display in a museum !! Agricultural equipment, rooms dressed as shops and information boards, there's also education rooms and a well being area. Gift shop, cafe and adequate toilets around the site. No height barrier. We do wander a bit, and have a coffee etc, but hadn't expected our visit to extend to 4 hours !!

Our winter visit to Normanby Hall Country Park was truly refreshing. The calm atmosphere and open space made it very comfortable for our family. The quiet surroundings were especially helpful for my son, who prefers peaceful environments. He enjoyed walking freely without noise or rush. The frost-covered trees and wide green spaces gave such a classic English winter feeling. A beautiful place to relax, reflect, and spend quality family time.
