Middlewood Farm Holiday Park

North Yorkshire

Sheltered family park ten minutes' walk from Robin Hood's Bay and the Cleveland Way

About Middlewood Farm Holiday Park

Middlewood Farm occupies a sheltered fold of ground at Fylingthorpe, on the landward side of Robin Hood's Bay, with the moors rising behind and the sea a field or two away. The setting does a lot of work here: you are close enough to walk into the village in about ten minutes, but tucked far enough back that the coastal wind loses most of its force. Pitches include level grass and hardstanding for touring caravans and motorhomes, a separate tent area, and electric hook-up on most of them.

The washing facilities are better than the site's modest size suggests, with free hot showers, private wash cubicles, a bath, hairdryers and a full accessible wet room, all open around the clock. There is a children's play area, optional wi-fi and a dog-friendly policy that extends to the surrounding footpaths. Alongside the touring pitches, the park has heated camping pods and glamping units with beds, fridge, microwave and power, which are a sensible fallback when the forecast turns. A pub and a village shop are within a five-minute walk.

Walkers get the best of it. The Cleveland Way runs along the cliffs immediately to the east, the old railway trackbed to Whitby passes close by for an easy traffic-free cycle or stroll, and Robin Hood's Bay itself is the finishing point of the Coast to Coast, so the site sees a steady flow of long-distance walkers in season. The beach below the village is among the best places in England for fossil hunting on a falling tide. Whitby is a fifteen-minute drive north. The park is open from March to early January.
