Bramwood Guest House

Hallgarth, Pickering · Guest House

Grade II listed eighteenth-century guest house minutes from Pickering's centre, with eight en-suite rooms and its own parking.

About Bramwood Guest House

Bramwood is an eighteenth-century Grade II listed house on Hallgarth, a short walk from the middle of Pickering. Eight bedrooms — five doubles, two singles and a twin — are all en suite, with free wi-fi, Freeview television and tea and coffee, and the walled garden behind is a pleasant place to sit at the end of a walking day.

It is run personally by the owners, and the breakfast reflects that: locally sourced, cooked to order and served in an unhurried way between eight and nine. Rates sit well below the town's hotels without any obvious compromise, which makes it a sensible choice for a longer stay or a walking base.

Practically, it is hard to beat. On-site parking is reached from the A169 at the rear, with unrestricted street parking at the front, and the North Yorkshire Moors Railway station is a few minutes on foot. Dalby Forest, Thornton-le-Dale, the Hole of Horcum and Levisham are all short drives, and Whitby and Scarborough are each around forty minutes.
