About Gennel House Farm Certificated Site

Gennel House Farm Certificated Site is a small campground near Allerston, a village between Pickering and the North York Moors. The site has shower facilities on site, which means campers can wash without leaving the grounds – useful in a rural setting where facilities are spread out.

As a certificated site (meaning it is registered with a caravan club and restricted to a small number of pitches), this is a low-key operation rather than a large caravan park. The Moors themselves are close by, and Pickering is just a short drive away if you need shops or services.

What visitors say

We spent two nights in a ‘glamping pod’ as two adults, two children, one dog and absolutely loved it! We’re usually campers but went for the easier option with our weekend away. The term ‘pod’ doesn’t really do it justice with its separate bedroom, spacious kitchen/dining area and toilet with running hot water…pure luxury! The bedroom was really cosy, warm and comfortable. Enough space for two adults and two children (as long as they don’t mind sharing a sofa bed). Plenty of space in the kitchen/dining area for shoes, coats, bags etc… kitchen area lovely and clean with lots of cupboard space. Comes with plates, cups, bowls and cutlery. Lovely clean site, great proximity to Dalby Forest, Pickering etc…. Shower block very modern and clean, had a lovely shower! Highly recommended.

We stayed for 4 nights in August in our motorhome and are already planning our next visit! The space for each pitch is huge and the facilities are spotless. Perfectly located for walks and bike rides in Dalby forest, and Thornton-le-Dale is beautiful. We loved staying here. Thanks to all who work hard to make it as wonderful as it is!

Wow!!! Just stayed here for two nights and I can honestly say this is one of the best campsites I’ve been to. It’s nice and peaceful, in a beautiful location, not far from Thornton-Le-Dale. The toilets and showers on site are nice, clean and modern. We couldn’t hear a thing on the site apart from birds/nature and felt very tranquil. The dog walking spot it’s nice - our dogs loved it. The views are beautiful. I will definitely visit again, we loved it here.

Absolutely beautiful campsite on the top of a hill. Quite small but good size pitches. Shower block is stunning. Middle of winter it was clean, warm and felt luxurious. We had no view due to weather but could imagine that the view SE over the edge of the forest must be stunning. There are no children’s facilities but we are just an older couple.
