Heart Stone Cottage
North Yorkshire
Photo: Google Maps
Heart Stone Cottage sits on an elevated footpath above Staithes, reached down a flight of 33 stone steps. The 18th-century fisherman's cottage has been updated with electric heating and Wi-Fi while keeping original beamed ceilings, wood panelling and a working woodburner. The ground floor holds a living room and kitchen with electric cooking; the first floor has a double bedroom and shower room; the second floor has two single beds under low vaulted beams.
The village spreads down the cliff face in a cascade of traditional stone cottages, threaded by narrow lanes and passages, with the harbour at sea level. Art galleries and an annual festival draw regular visitors. The coast itself lies within a mile of the door. One pet stays free of charge. The property is yours alone, with bed linen and towels provided; there is a public car park in the village at additional cost. No smoking indoors.
