Percy’s Cottage

North Yorkshire

View on Google Maps

Built from the region's honey-coloured sandstone, Percy's Cottage was lovingly renovated in 2024 while keeping many original features intact—beamed ceilings, wooden panelling and period details like a vintage butter churner give the rooms genuine character. The ground floor centres on a wood-burning stove in the living area, which opens into the dining space; the kitchen has everything needed for self-catering, from oven and hob to dishwasher, and a breakfast bar for morning coffee. A bathroom with shower over the tub completes this level. Two bedrooms upstairs: the first has a zip-and-link bed (either super king or twin singles), while a second, tucked under the eaves with exposed beams and Velux windows, offers moorland views and another zip-and-link bed. The cottage sleeps four, and one well-behaved pet is welcome.

Essentials including heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and wi-fi are provided; wood for the burner is supplied to start you off. A small enclosed garden at the back has a patio and seating. The village sits in the North York Moors and is within a mile of a pub. A travel cot, highchair and stairgate are available for families with young children. No smoking indoors.
