The main sleeping areas comprise three zip-and-link kingsize beds (each divisible into singles) plus one double, while a sofa bed in the open-plan living space offers flexibility. Four separate bathrooms mean less negotiation over showers and routines, and heated towel rails come as standard throughout.

The kitchen handles proper cooking—electric hob and oven, dishwasher, microwave and washing machine are all there—so you're not confined to the usual cottage basics. Wifi and central heating are included, as are bed linen and towels. One dog stays free and benefits from the garden; there is bike storage on site and parking for two cars. The setting, beside the flowing water that gives the property its name and close to Castle Woods, works well for walking holidays or as a base for reaching the Yorkshire Dales. No smoking indoors.
