Clennell Hall Riverside Holiday Park

This is our 3rd season at Clennell and Matt and Carol (wardens) have went above and beyond to accommodate us from day one, making us feel welcome, always asking when we'll be back. The park is absolutely beautiful, and the toilet/shower block is very clean. Unfortunately we had to move our sited tourer to another plot and Matt and Carol made sure we were happy with our new plot and Matt went above and beyond to make sure our move went smoothly. Thankfully we love our plot even more than the last one. Everyone is so friendly and the surrounding countryside is just absolutely breathtaking.

Caravan park and camping. Absolutely stunning location, beautiful views, lovely and peaceful. Wardens Carol and Matthew extremely welcoming and helpful, couldn’t be better. The site is very well kept, you can see it’s looked after and the amenities too. Dogs allowed on a leader and loads of places to walk. If you’re looking for a camping spot or somewhere to get a static caravan you can’t go wrong here. Fantastic!

I regret to say that my experience at Clennell Riverside has been extremely disappointing, primarily due to the conduct of the wardens. Their aggressive and unprofessional behavior, along with constant lying, forced me to relocate to a different site. It is disheartening to witness their lack of professionalism, particularly in their interactions with disabled and elderly guests. The wardens have a tendency to criticize and talk about other owners behind their backs, and they often disparage local businesses. Their handling of situations is especially troubling, such as falsely accusing several owners of driving offences. Ironically, they drive their jeep with the windscreen obscured by a large outdoor box. And don’t get me started on their method of pest control. Currently, there are many empty plots, and I’ve noticed that even many of the seasonal tourers haven't returned this year. Our formal complaint was met with gaslighting and was not taken seriously by the company. What was once a beautiful park now suffers from a pervasive, negative atmosphere — an unfortunate reputation even among local businesses. The fear of retaliation prevents many from speaking out, but I feel compelled to share our experience there. You will find the other reviews are either from passing tourers who don’t get to know the way things are run or the remaining people they know and haven’t fell out with.

Deterioration Over Time – A Once-Loved Caravan Park Now to Avoid Having been an owner at this caravan park for the past three years, it's disheartening to witness its steady decline due to mismanagement. What was once a vibrant and welcoming place has now become a shadow of its former self, largely due to the wardens who currently oversee the park. The wardens are unprofessional and deceptive, creating an atmosphere of discomfort for many of us who considered this park a home away from home. They choose to speak to some owners in a disgraceful aggressive manner. Their approach to wildlife management is alarming, with reports of using poison that not only harms animals but also risks the ecosystem. Many dead hedgehogs were found around the park last season. Additionally, park maintenance has significantly declined. The grounds are not cared for properly, neglecting to clear the cut grass so it is walked indoors. And huge potholes left to fill with water creating a muddy mess. The worst part is the fear they instill, especially among families with disabled children, which is utterly unacceptable. Many of my fellow owners have already abandoned their plots, leading to a noticeable increase in vacancies. For anyone considering this park, I would strongly advise looking elsewhere until there are major changes in how it is managed. This was once a wonderful place, but under the current wardens, it's simply not worth the trouble anymore.
