Caravan site in Rothbury, Northumberland, with showers and a riverside setting.

About Riverside Rothbury

Riverside Rothbury sits on the banks of the River Coquet in the village of Rothbury, deep in Northumberland's countryside. The river forms a natural boundary to the site, with the village itself just a stone's throw away, making it easy to walk into Rothbury for supplies and meals without needing to drive.

The site has showers on-site. Pitches here are for caravans. The immediate surroundings are quintessentially rural—the river, open fields and the quiet rhythms of a small Northumberland village. Rothbury itself sits in an area known for walking, with the Shepherd's Walks trail starting nearby, and the broader landscape of the Coquet Valley opening out in all directions.

Great relaxing week away for all of the family. The Lodges were lovely and clean. Fantastic bonus of free golf for the adults to enjoy ! We saw lots of wildlife that came to visit us, and a great stay would definitely return.

Arrived home after a wonderful weekend at Riverside Rothbury. The site itself is stunning, peaceful and maintained to a very high standard. Our lodge was luxurious, modern, spotlessly clean, well equipped and we were blessed with breathtaking views of the rolling countryside. Staff were very attentive and friendly. The Riverside walk into the traditional village was beautiful, lots of nice pubs and tea rooms. Would highly recommend this site and we will definitely return. Thank you Riverside Rothbury.

Firstly the lodge was lovely and cosy on arrival which we were glad of as the weather was miserable, rainy and foggy. The lodge is bigger than we thought and had great facilities however the WiFi does not work at all, being that the weather was bad we wanted to utilise this to watch a movie which we couldn't. This would not suit families with children as there is nothing on the site for them to do and having no WiFi they could not use any gadgets etc. During our stay we had a leak which left a patch on the carpet, this didn't affect us being as it was outside the toilet door. During our stay we reported 2 different lodges that were also having water issues. The lodge next to us had water running all night, not sure where from. Bring your own loo roll as they only provide you with one, I would also bring a tea towel again only one supplied. There are 2 sofas in the lodge but they are quite small, one is a sofa bed which we pulled out so we could sit together in comfort watching TV. I think I would only return if I didn't need WiFi however if you want a lovely peaceful holiday this would suit you. The lodge is well equipped for cooking etc and there is a very large fridge freezer, oven, grill and hob. Salt n pepper in cupboard and some sachets of tea and coffee but we took our own. Lovely micro pub in the village called The Narrow Nick with a great selection of ales etc and reasonably priced, also very dog friendly. Yes apart from no WiFi as advertised

We have just stayed in one of the lodges and it was amazing from start to finish. Every single member of staff could not do enough for us and they were all polite and approachable and never stopped keeping the site looking amazing. Could not recommend this place more. 👍
