Herons Rest
Northumberland
Herons Rest is a two-bedroom stone cottage built to last, set on the Northumberland coast close to Druridge Bay and its seven-mile sweep of beach. The building itself has the solid, unpretentious character of a working coastal property, with enough modern comfort to make a stay feel effortless rather than austere. Downstairs holds a living room with Smart TV and streaming apps, a kitchen with gas and electric cooking, and a separate toilet. Upstairs are two bedrooms—one with a kingsize bed and one three-quarter double—sharing a bathroom with shower over the tub. Heating and hot water are included, along with linen, towels and Wi-Fi.
The rear garden is the real draw on quiet days, offering a place to settle with a book or watch the light change over the fields. One dog stays free, and parking for one car sits on the property itself. For exploration, Druridge Country Park is minutes away on foot, popular with walkers and cyclists; the actual beach is roughly a twenty-minute walk. Amble, a genuine working harbour town, has Sunday morning markets, small food shops and pubs a short drive south. Warkworth Castle and the village around it reward an afternoon visit; further afield lie Craster, Seahouses and Bamburgh, each with their own pull. The property does not accept children, and smoking is not permitted.
