Doxford Hall Hotel & Spa

lovely weekend away for a friends wedding. given the location from where we live we went an additional night as had our 3 year also. hotel accommodated the little one in the room we had and staff very friendly. wedding service was amazing, food top notch. prices on drinks and the additional meals on the high side and there was an issue with the bar closing early both nights despite agreements with the wedding party. the venue accommodated the number of children at the wedding by allowing an area of the garden to have football goals and games. nice little maze to get lost in also.

I had a wowcher voucher to use. So I contact the company and asked for available dates as I had from January to March. Give me the dates available. I picked a date. I contacted them a few days later before I was meant to arrive as I was unable to attend for work and ask if I was able to extend my voucher, that was a problem. The company was able to accommodate me and give me a number of dates on which I was able to attend the next month, i hadnt been here before and was taking me mam alone as a treat. When we arrived then grounds looked lovely and big, we went to reception and ask for directions to the spa, we got to the spa & was giving a lovely friendly welcome from the lady behided the spa tesk & was giving locker keys and informaed about the spa and was informed are lunch had been booked for 1pm. I would say the spa is small only 6 lounges.s to lie on the rest is chairs all around. The deep end on the pool is 1.5mm, some areas of the spa could do with an uplift a like bit of love. But over all good, i would say move the water tank from on top of the stairs not in the best place for access for people with mobility problems and it gets wet could easy become a trip harard on the steps. Lunch was included 2 course & £6 if wanted to have a 3 course not bad at all. We had a bottle of wine witch was £33 added extra. The food was amazing.

I recently spent three nights staying at the hotel, and overall, it was a pleasant experience. The room I stayed in was lovely and notably quiet. I stayed on a bed and breakfast basis, and the breakfast was good. While most of the staff were friendly enough, I did encounter a couple of moments at reception that left me wanting. One lady, in particular, seemed less than helpful, which was disappointing. Unfortunately, I have to mention a concern about a personal item. I left my music speaker in the room upon checkout, and when I called the hotel to inquire about it, I was informed that it couldn't be found. I’m confident I left it there, so this has left me puzzled and a bit frustrated, so maybe beware.

Beautiful hotel, rooms and furniture, however small details were off. Table candle holders were dreadful B&M mirrored cheap glittery rubbish (not fitting the hotel at all), the same for the wall lights, cheap candle with dripping wax tryely cheapened all the beautiful details. The spa was very under whelming, 50 shades of brown & beige very little thought pit into it, the least relaxing or enjoyable (the jacuzzi was broken too). However the staff, were a real delight, along with beautiful grounds. Which were only let down by the 10 or so cheap plastic plant pots. Totally out of keeping with the beautiful urns that were alongside them. This is a stunning location, and with a bit more care/ thought could be a very nice hotel.
