Family-friendly campsite near Witney with tent and motorhome pitches, lakes for swimming and watersports, and extensive on-site facilities.
About Hardwick Park
Hardwick Park is a large campsite spread across mature parkland with lakes that draw visitors for swimming and water sports during the warmer months. The site takes tents and motorhomes, with electric hook-ups available. On-site facilities are comprehensive: showers, laundry, washing up areas, a shop, café, bar and club house, plus a children's play area and chemical disposal point for motorhomers. Wireless internet is available throughout.
The lakes are the real draw here, with watersports kit available to hire in spring and summer. The peaceful setting among the trees appeals to families and couples, though the sheer size of the site means it can feel busy during peak season. Staff are generally helpful, though service standards can be inconsistent. The site welcomes rallies and is set up for disabled access, with pets allowed. Nearby Witney offers shops and pubs within reach of the campsite.

What visitors say
Great location alongside the lake, but facilities are dated and in need of better cleaning, redecorating, or even better complete renovation. Was looking forward to cooked breakfast at The Boat House during our stay. Online menu says breakfast from 9 to 11 am Sat and Sun. We were there at 9:30 Saturday morning and all they had was pastries. No cooked food. Left feeling disappointed.

This was our first time attending Trekker Fest, and what a fantastic experience it was! Hardwick Parks proved to be the perfect venue, with beautiful surroundings and excellent facilities that made for an unforgettable weekend. A special mention must go to Matt and his team at The Boat Shed. Their warm welcome, friendly service, and outstanding food and drink really helped make the weekend extra special. Matt’s quiz was great fun, and the Saturday evening entertainment was the perfect way to bring everyone together. We’ve come away from the weekend feeling tired, but only because we packed so much fun into it! The atmosphere throughout the event was brilliant, and it’s clear that the whole team at Hardwick Parks work incredibly hard to create such a welcoming and enjoyable experience for everyone. A well-deserved 5-star review from us. Thank you to everyone involved – we’ll definitely be back! From Team Moonlight Adventures Rich, Sean & Louise

Absolutely awful. My daughter left in tears after being harassed and the hypocrisy is sickening. My daughters and her four friends enter the park. All 17 years of age. Never had any problems been going there for years. Immediately stopped by two individuals. Asking for age confirmation and passes. Four of the 5 of them holding passes. All 17. Met with nothing but hostility. Told to leave as they were under 18 and unable to be there without an adult. Of course they set off. On their journey out of the park they witness groups of 10-15 underage children. Most illegally drinking whilst engaging in water activities. None holding passes. Mostly males. Why were they not removed with the same hostility. The girls asked some of the groups “how old are you” all answered “15” asked “do you have passes” all answered “no we snuck round the back” what about this group of girls warranted this treatment. Gender? Race? I’m understanding of the rules but only applying it to some people is unfair at least. This happened over 2 weeks ago.

Invited here for the day by friends who'd been camping. Was a 33 degree celcius day so the lake was very appealing. As we pulled up, staff member came out and asked what we were doing here. Explained our plans and she said I'd have to pay for the day. No worries. Go inside and she says that our friends were meant to check out at 11am and that they couldn't admit any day visitors at all, as "they didn't have the space". The place was 3/4 empty. Rude, abrupt and dismissive service. There are plenty of camp grounds just as nice with fra friendlier staff. Avoid.
