What visitors say
We recently stayed at Big Barn Campsite and absolutely loved it. If you're looking for a peaceful, back-to-nature getaway, this site is well worth a visit. The campsite is set in a beautiful, quiet part of the countryside and is very well maintained. The pitches are generously sized, each with its own picnic bench and fire pit, and plenty of fresh water taps dotted around. Pitches are thoughtfully separated by lovely wildflower meadow borders, giving everyone plenty of space and privacy. As a member of the Greener Camping Club, this site offers fantastic value. If you're not already a member, it's only £12 to join, which then gives you access to a wonderful network of campsites across the UK so worth the investment. The site has a true back-to-nature ethos. There are compost toilets conveniently located around the campsite, all of which were clean. The Big Barn provides hot showers, washing facilities, and an honesty shop stocked with essentials and firewood, which was a lovely touch. A special mention must go to Michael, the owner. He manages the site single-handedly and does a fantastic job. Although we didn't see him often as he was busy running a farm and keeping everything running smoothly, he was always available by phone and couldn't have been more helpful or friendly. This has quickly become one of our new favourite campsites. The combination of beautiful surroundings, excellent facilities, spacious pitches, and a genuinely peaceful atmosphere makes it somewhere we'll definitely return to. Highly recommended for anyone wanting to escape the hustle and bustle and enjoy a relaxing break in nature.

The camping is on the ncn4 cycling route, perfect for tourers who are looking for a stay for night. Also, it is family friendly and the owner is super kind. I'm already planning to come back with my kids 😄

Stargazing tent was big enough, non of the lashing rain came in. Toilet fine, all important things were there. We couldnt see the stars (weather issue, not venue) but the sheep which was equally nice :) will recommend.

Absolutely fantastic!!! The minute we turned onto the drive, we knew we had found a hidden gem!! The views were amazing. The entire site was above expectations. Michael was welcoming, friendly & helpful from beginning to end, and has thought of just about everything for an enjoyable & hassle free stay, from phone chargers to ice packs, to the little 'honesty box shop', which was real handy when our stove gas bottle ran out at 10pm!! The whole place was well kept, clean & tidy, with every facility well thought out. We had an amazing 3 days on the superior pitch and will definitely be booking again... Hopefully, really soon!!! Thank you so much, Michael. You made our little get-away perfect in every way!! Keith & Cathy x
