I find it hard that I have never visited before. 63 years old when I make my first visit. The information is superb, not overloaded with words, just enough to inspire some personal history search later. This is just the indoor information before you begin the walking tour. The Walking Tour: divided into 3 sections, Ireland; pre departure: Travel: America. Delighted to learn that many buildings are being restored and additional buildings are being added. We were blessed with the greatest of guides as we walked through the years. Knowledge abounds, people who so obviously enjoy what they do. An absolute pleasure to spend time talking with you all. To witness a special moment. An American gentleman having his photograph taken in the doorway of the bank that he had worked for. Guide books available in many languages, including Arabic. I'm looking forward to bringing my Moroccan friends here.

What an incredible experience!!! The attention to detail and storytelling is just phenomenal!!! To think that entire houses were labelled stone by stone as they were deconstructed, then shipped across the world, and rebuilt as per the original is just unbelievable. Each exhibit has a real person dressed in costume that tells you a story, takes you on a journey, or shares with you a special craft. There were even tasting treats along the way replicating the food in those times. The little grocery store, chemist and stationers were mind blowing. You can even buy candy/sweets in these stores - which in itself is an authentic experience! Absolutely loved every moment!!! A massive appreciation goes to the team that work so hard to bring this journey to life. It is well worth it!

Absolutely love this open air museum, especially how you go from Ireland, take a ship and end up in America! Well done. Great info from the docents. Good displays and period furnishings. Highly recommend.

A very interesting place to visit. It gives a great insight to life before, during and after emigration. The displays and exhibits were brought to life by some very well informed members of staff. This made the visit well worth while.
