About Hotel Portmeirion
Hotel Portmeirion has stood on the water's edge since 1926, its Art Deco dining room and terraces looking straight out over the Dwyryd estuary towards the Snowdonia hills. It was one of the first buildings on the site and remains the closest thing Portmeirion has to a centrepiece address.
Rooms mix original 1920s character with contemporary furnishings, and many look directly over the water; an outdoor swimming pool is open to guests through the summer months. The hotel's restaurant is one of the best-regarded in the area, built around Welsh lamb, Cardigan Bay seafood and produce from local farms.
Staying here gives access to the whole Portmeirion estate outside day-visitor hours, including the piazza and subtropical gardens once the gates have closed to the public, which is the main draw for guests choosing it over accommodation further along the coast.
