Plas Tan-yr-Allt is a Georgian house set into the wooded hillside above Tremadog, with historical associations to the poet Percy Bysshe Shelley, who is said to have lived there in the early 1800s. It operates today as a small boutique guest house around three miles from Portmeirion.
Rooms are individually decorated and look out over the surrounding gardens and woodland towards the Glaslyn estuary, with breakfast served using local and home-grown produce.
Its elevated, wooded setting gives a quieter, more secluded alternative to staying in Porthmadog itself, while remaining close enough for an easy visit to both the town and Portmeirion.
