Ash Lodge at Lon Lodges
Powys
Ash Lodge is a single-storey cottage on a working farm outside Rhayader, sleeping six across three bedrooms. You arrive into an open-plan space that joins the living area, dining zone and kitchen without partition—useful for keeping an eye on children, and the sort of layout where the fire and the kettle are never far from the sofa. Two of the bedrooms have patio doors onto the garden; the third contains single beds. There is one bathroom, plus a separate toilet. Essentials like heating, Wi-Fi, bed linen and towels are included.
The kitchen is properly equipped for self-catering: electric cooker and hob, dishwasher, fridge-freezer and microwave mean you can cook as simply or ambitiously as you like. The living area has a smart TV, DAB radio and Bluetooth speaker. Step through the glazed doors and the garden is enclosed, with decking, furniture and a veranda with a swing chair—and at the far end sits your own hot tub, facing out across the farm towards the dark Powys sky. Parking is on site; there is also an electric car charging station. The farm itself sits within reach of Elan Valley (five miles), a pocket of Wales known for walking, cycling and fishing. Rhayader, four miles away, has shops and a pub. Stargazing and dark-sky photography can be arranged. Children and couples only.
