Spent the bank holiday weekend here with the family, the fishing was great over the 3 days we had plenty nice carp and bream, the new owners are doing a great job and nothing was any hassle the people who work there and are around on site are friendly and great bunch of people, the site is dog friendly to which is great , the fishing shop on site has everything you need if you forget some things and is very reasonably priced, the place is great to relax and nice and quiet, with some great walks nearby, the fishing static we stayed in was lovely modern and clean, everything you need cooking facilities etc and the pond directly outside with a private peg the place really is fantastic and i can see when all ponds are at there full potential and the team have finished the modern improvements they are on with around the ponds and site this place is going to be something special!... keep up the good work guys, your doing a great job! ... We will be definitely coming back in the future

I stayed a night in one of the Shepherds Huts and fished over two days. What a great experience and value for money. The whole site is well maintained with friendly staff. The term hut doesn't do the shepherds hut justice. Very clean. Warm. Perfect for solo or a couple. Double bed. Fridge. Toaster. Kettle. Microwave. Efficient and easy to use wood burner. Nice thoughtful extras like soap, washing liquid, shampoo, tea coffee etc. Wood and firelighters supplied. Basic but sufficient stock of cutlery and plates etc. Dedicated toilet and shower thirty second walk. Shower hot. Plenty of space. Good pressure. Short walk to another general washing up area, drinking water and toilet shower etc. The huts are right next to a small lake and the canal for fishing. Disposable BBQ on sale on site. There are a number of fishing areas to choose from. The main lake seems well stocked. Lots of small carp caught plus perch, bream, roach. From speaking to other anglers there are bigger carp and the odd tench in plus bigger perch. Chub in the canal. There's no cafe but confectionery, ice cream and a coffee hut on site. Scorton is only five minutes drive with a Spar for basic hot food and other supplies plus a restaurant for other take away coffee as the hut doesn't do decaffeinated. I really enjoyed it here. Nice and laid back.

Edited to answer the question below - we were in Caravan 1 on Sunday 29th March. There was nobody on site when we arrived (5pm). A nice location but lacked some essentials. There were no towels, ridiculous that we couldn’t dry ourselves after a shower. Also requested that the bins emptied but there were no bin bags. If we’d have known these things wouldn’t be provided it wouldn’t be a problem, but I’ve never stayed anywhere and needed to bring my own bin bags.
