Ravenscar's accommodation is small in number but big on character, reflecting the village's unusual history as a resort that was planned but never finished. The standout is Raven Hall Hotel, built into the former Raven Hill House on the clifftop where the Victorian developers' grand terraces should have stood; it has its own nine-hole golf course, gardens running to the cliff edge, and sweeping views over Robin Hood's Bay. It is the closest thing Ravenscar has to the seaside grand hotel it was originally meant to become. A little further inland, The Falcon Inn offers more traditional pub accommodation, along with newer glamping options in its grounds, and makes a useful base for walkers tackling the Cleveland Way or Cinder Track. Beyond these two, options are mostly self-catering cottages and holiday lets scattered around the village and surrounding countryside, many aimed squarely at walkers rather than typical seaside holidaymakers.

Because Ravenscar has no beach or town centre in the conventional sense, most visitors treat it as a base for exploring rather than a destination with entertainment of its own, so proximity to the coastal path and moors tends to matter more than choice of restaurants or nightlife. Booking ahead is sensible given how few rooms exist in the village itself; those wanting more choice of hotels, guesthouses and B&Bs often base themselves in nearby Robin Hood's Bay, Whitby or Scarborough instead, all within a short drive, and visit Ravenscar for the day to walk the cliffs, explore the alum works and take in the view from what should have been a grand Edwardian promenade.
