Elan Oaks Caravan and Camping Site

Fantastic campsite. One of the cleanest facilities we’ve ever had, and we have visited a lot of campsites. Showers were so clean I took my crocs off!! Laundry room, indoor place to wash up. Big family shower rooms made getting ready all together so easy. Staff all super friendly and helpful. Beautiful site with lovely grass pitches with space for the children to play. Lovely safe river for them to paddle in and easy access to the Elan valley via a safe cycle path. We would definitely recommend and will come back!

Fabulous camp site , with amazing views, beside a shallow river. Great facilities. Very clean. Jo who was there to meet and greet was amazing,, so friendly and helpful, he seemed to be running the whole site on his own. Well organised, great position for walking into Rhayader along a leafy covered path. Half a mile from the visitors centre and easy access to the wonderful dams by foot, bike or vehicle. Opposite a hotel for good food, drink.

We stayed here as a stop-off on our journey from South Wales back up North, and it turned out to be the perfect halfway point to break up the drive. The location is lovely, with some beautiful walks right on the doorstep. We stayed in the Llanfadog field, which was really quiet and peaceful. At the bottom of the field there's direct access to the river, which our dog absolutely loved. It was the furthest field from the shower block, but that didn't bother us at all as we'd much rather have a quieter pitch. It also meant we had some brilliant sunset views on an evening. The shower and toilet facilities were great - really clean, with plenty of them, so there was never any waiting around. We also noticed there was a dog wash area, which was a nice touch, although we didn't end up needing to use it. Everything around the site was really well looked after and well maintained. We arrived after reception had closed, but checking in was really straightforward, and one of the wardens came by not long after to make sure everything was okay. The only thing worth mentioning is that the Wi-Fi signal wasn't great from our pitch, but we were in the furthest field away from reception, so I imagine that's why. It wasn't a big issue for us, but it's worth bearing in mind if you need a strong connection during your stay. Overall, a really reasonably priced, well-kept campsite in a beautiful setting. We'd definitely stay here again, whether as a stop-off or for a longer visit next time.

Immaculately kept, water on every pitch, beautiful showers and facilities, in a stunning landscape. My only complaint had to be that the pitches were so uniformly set out and open that the overall impression was sterility. Maybe more trees and bushes would help? Fantastic otherwise!
