Hotels in Ripple

Ripple itself has no hotels — it's a tiny village without so much as a shop — but its position between Deal and Sandwich means proper accommodation is never far away. Deal, the larger of the two towns, has a good range of options along its Georgian seafront and high street, from traditional English seaside guesthouses to smarter boutique hotels in period buildings, many with sea views over the Downs anchorage. Sandwich, a few minutes further on, has a smaller but characterful selection of inns and townhouse hotels set among its medieval timber-framed streets, well placed for exploring the town on foot.

Both towns make a practical base for a stay near Ripple, putting Deal Castle, Walmer Castle, Sandwich Bay and the Royal St George's golf links all within easy striking distance, along with the wider countryside walks around the village itself. Further afield, Canterbury and Dover also have a broader choice of hotels for those wanting a slightly bigger town as their base, both within around twenty minutes' drive. Wherever you choose to stay, the rural quiet of Ripple and its surrounding downland is never more than a short hop away, making it an easy add-on for a day's walk or a look at the village's Roman and wartime history.
