Waingates Farm Huts

I chose this place over many others for my birthday. I would have loved to give this business a higher star rating, and I can see that plenty of people do - but after staying at multiple glamping sites and having experienced a lot of the same form of accommodation - I find myself pickier than say someone who hasn't as I have more to compare it to. Especially considering the price point is more than others. The location is beautiful, secluded, quiet, out of the way and is within 20 minutes of knaresborough which is where we wanted to explore. I can't say how public transport is around that area however I believe there isn't any so only a possible trip for drivers. The accommodation is a cool concept - a wooden style igloo building which is certainly different to the standard shepherd's huts. The hot tub is always a good selling point too. Unfortunately there was a fair few things I noticed were missing which would have made the visit a lot smoother - in regards to the hot tub - their wasn't any paddle to mix the water - which resulted in multiple burnt hands as it's impossible to spread the heat of the water without one. A high table or similar & some form of hooks would have been very helpful for our drinks and robes. Without this, we had to compromise and drag a barrel from the other side of the garden to use, and our robes had to stay on the wooden step which wasn't ideal as the overflowing water soaked them. Generally speaking, I am concerned that this glamping accommodation and the owners may have lost love for what they do as a lot of the resources seem to have been left to age away - which if so that's a real shame as it could be so much more! - the reason I say this is because I noticed that the social media side of things seems to have been deserted. It's only by sheer accident I came across this business. The outside furniture was worse for wear - the table for the sitting area was gone (so again we had to compromise and use chairs as tables!), the steps were full of moss and were slippy (we slipped a few times which is avoidable if cleaned regularly). The lock box for the key was broken which is a safety concern. Surrounding tables and chairs were rusty and not inviting. The fire pit door was broken off so hard to keep logs from falling out. In regards to the accomodation itself, most of the windows didn't lock properly as they had broken latches - the included telescope didn't work so we didn't get to enjoy that extra. The shower seemed to go freezing cold after not long of using it and we couldn't get it to warm back up resulting in having to run back to the hot tub to wash soap off.. not ideal. It had all the resources to wash your used pots... Except no dish drainer or towel so I'm not sure how we can be expected to put them back ( I personally left them clean but in the sink otherwise they would have flooded the worktop ). Another thing I did realise is their is no instructions on how to use the electric hob - it can't be expected for everyone to know how to use this and we personally had to research it to be able to make a cup of tea.

Just came back from the 2 night stay at Waingate Farn Huts. Absolutely lovely stay, the hut has everything you need, very clean. All necessities is provided, bed is so comfy and a very cozy and homey feel. I have never tried wood burner hot tub and that was an exciting experience , I will recommend to burn wood at full steam for around 3 hours. The area is amazing, lovely countryside and walks. We walked to Oak pub via The staveley nature reserve in staveley for lunch and food was just amazing. We have also explored borough bridge village next door which is very picturesque town with lots of beautiful scenery and walks. We will defo come back and stay again. Really enjoyed our stay and will definitely recommend. Good value for money and fab place for nature lovers.

My partner and I stayed in Yain over the bank holiday weekend, with our little dog, and had the most fantastic time. Everything in the shephard's hut and the enclosed garden has been designed and planned to perfection, down to the little details such as having the firepit and wood fired hot tub laid ready to light (the hot tub went down an absolute treat, we were in it most of the weekend!) The app provided is a brilliant idea, containing all of the information we could possibly need to know, such as how to light the hot tub, local walks and recommended food establishments near by. We really did have the most relaxing weekend; our stay was everything we hoped for and more. We can't wait to return again!

We had a beautiful stay in theTayter hut. We were blown away from the second we walked in to our own private enclosed garden. With the hut itself being so beautiful, clean and welcoming. Gas BBQ, log burning Hot tub, it's a peaceful and tranquil place to stay. We would definitely book again. Thankyou.
