Braewick Cafe and Caravan Park

Shetland

Family-run park on the North Mainland with views of the Drongs sea stacks

About Braewick Cafe and Caravan Park

Braewick Cafe and Caravan Park sits on Shetland's North Mainland with a clear view across to Da Drongs, the dramatic granite sea stacks that rise from the water near Eshaness, making it one of the most scenically dramatic campsites anywhere on the islands. The park is family-run and pairs its pitches with an on-site cafe serving food and drink through most of the day, a useful stop given how few other options there are on this stretch of coast.

The site offers thirty tent pitches, ten touring pitches for caravans and motorhomes, and a handful of wigwam camping pods for those without their own kit. Facilities include a kitchen, laundry, showers, toilets and baby changing, along with a play park for children, and the site is pet-friendly throughout, welcoming dogs on both tent and touring pitches.

Braewick's North Mainland position makes it an ideal base for visiting the Eshaness cliffs and lighthouse, the geological sites around Stenness, and the ferries north to Yell and Unst, while Brae itself, with its shops and fuel station, is a short drive away. Its combination of dramatic scenery and a proper cafe on site makes it worth booking ahead for the peak summer weeks, and the outlook towards the Drongs is dramatic enough that many visitors simply pitch, walk the short coastal path to the cliff edge, and spend an evening watching the light change over the stacks before heading in for food.
