Skimblescott Barn

Shropshire

Much Wenlock sits in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in Corve Dale, surrounded by the Shropshire Hills and within reach of Shrewsbury, Ludlow and Ironbridge. Skimblescott Barn occupies a working family farm here, offering guests the whole property to themselves with space for four.

The barn has two bedrooms—one with a double bed, one with two singles—and a bathroom with both bath and shower. The ground floor brings living and kitchen areas together, with French doors from the lounge and patio doors from the kitchen opening onto an enclosed garden with patio and furniture. The kitchen is equipped for real cooking, with an electric cooker, dishwasher, microwave and fridge-freezer. Bed linen, towels, electricity and Wi-Fi are all included; heating comes from oil central heating. Two cars can park on site. One dog is welcome, though the working farm means it must be kept on a lead.

The location suits walkers—Long Mynd, Carding Mill Valley and Wenlock Edge are all accessible—as well as anyone interested in the town's medieval architecture or Wenlock Priory. Less strenuous days work too; Much Wenlock itself is a small market town with independent shops and cafes lining its streets.

The perfect place for the do nothing break. A lovely converted barn on a working farm. The views are amazing and many miles to walk the pupster. The hostess with the mostess leaving you a cake (which should be marketed) and a basics pack of tea, coffee, sugar, OJ and milk. Everything you need in the kitchen and true cottage living room and the cosiest of bedrooms. Great fenced in gardens front and back for the dogs. Visit once and you will want to go back.

The barn is fantastic. Warm, cosy, spotlessly clean. A fantastic place to get away from the hustle and bustle of life. The beds are very comfortable and bedding top quality. My dogs loved playing in the garden which is very secure. I would definitely recommend.
