About Crakemoor Campsite
Tucked into the countryside just outside Skipton, Crakemoor Campsite is a wonderfully peaceful spot for families and dog owners exploring the Yorkshire Dales. The 50 non-electric grass pitches keep things refreshingly simple, and the site's relaxed, back-to-basics vibe wins plenty of praise from campers who appreciate a quieter retreat. Showers, toilets and drinking water cover the essentials, though there's no waste disposal or WiFi — so it's genuinely off-grid in spirit.
The location is the real draw: Skipton's market town charm is a short drive away, while the dramatic limestone landscapes of the Dales feel wonderfully close. It's the kind of place where you can wake to birdsong, let the dog roam, and plan days out without fuss. A solid, no-frills base that does exactly what it promises.

What visitors say
Just back from a weekend stay here, it was fabulous. The location and views were amazing, but the pod was fantastic. We stayed in the Duck Had all the facilities you could ask for and was super comfortable. The secure garden meant our dog could run around, and the thoughtful treats, bowls and ball left for her were a lovely touch. Lots of plug sockets and usb charging points, which was super helpful. Having the en suite bathroom in the pod was great and lots of pressure and hot water. The fire pit for the pizza was amazing but the hot tub, wow! Watching the moon come up in our hot tub, with the fire pit on too, great memories. All the staff were really friendly and helpful, and also have to say facilities for breakfast and dinner were equally as good. We will definitely come back. Thank you!

Had a great stay here, very clean and quiet by 10pm. Toilets and showers are great, there are washing up, fridge and freezer facilities. The pizza and coffee is pretty good too! My only complaint would be that I paid for an electric pitch and the plug was a long way from our pitch, I had two long reels but it would have still been better if the electric box wasn’t so far away. Otherwise, a fabulous break in the campervan with family. The scenery alone is stunning! Would recommend.

Id definitely recommend a glamping tent here with the hot tub. It’s lovely & private with a pizza oven, indoor heater & kitchen in the tent. Also staff are nice, loads of parking & the little shop is nicely stocked. Bit cheeky that they charge extra for more than one bag of logs when it’s hundred for the tent as you need them to use the tub or pizza oven. Other than that 10/10.

Loved my stay here, the camping fields are big and even with quite a few tents it never felt busy or loud. As a solo female camper I felt so welcomed and safe. The facilities are fantastic, very clean showers and toilet and the washing up station is great. Fridges and freezers were great and came in handy. All of the staff were friendly, I will definitely be back here again!
